Italy is famous for its boot-shaped peninsula. The country is surrounded by four seas: the Adriatic Sea, the Ionian Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Tyrrhenian Sea.The Italian flag is has three equal bands of vertical stripes in green, white and red.
The currency used is the Euro. Prior to becoming a member of the European Union and adopting the euro, the lira was used.
